Hai-Xu Cheng currently works as the CTO (Chief Technology Officer) of Rothwell International after he retired from the role of IBM Global Lead and IBM GCG CTO of standards and open source. Hai-Xu's current major focus is providing consulting services for enterprise clients at C-level on architectures, standards and open source. In his prior role at IBM, Hai-Xu led the IBM global & China teams working to develop open source communities and technologies that span AI, data & analytics, cloud computing, quantum computing, & blockchain etc & advocated the clients adopting the open technologies to fuel innovation in both technical and business domains. Hai-Xu has personally involved in the development of many China standards at CCSA (ICT), TC260 (Cybersecurity), TC28 (SC38 (Cloud), SC42(AI)), and international standards at ISO/IEC JTC1 SC42 (AI), SC38 (Cloud), & ISO TC307 (Blockchain). Hai-Xu has also actively engaged in developer advocacy, open source projects promotion & ecosystem dev.
